Bowes townhouse guide

James Snow Parkway at the door

Bowes sits in south Milton, near Louis St. Laurent Avenue, Thompson Road South and James Snow Parkway South. For commuters, that location is the main selling point. James Snow Parkway runs straight north to Highway 401, so getting onto the highway is quicker than from many other Boyne neighbourhoods.

The drive to Union Station uses the 401, the 427 and the Gardiner, and takes about an hour outside rush hour. A bus runs from Derry Road and Suave Street to Union Station in about 1.5 hours.

Built for the 401 commuter

Bowes suits buyers who drive the 401 every day and want a newer freehold townhouse. Young families like the parks and schools. Downsizers sometimes look here too for a newer home with little immediate maintenance.

For a household with two commuters, one heading to Mississauga and one to Oakville or Burlington, Bowes is well placed. James Snow Parkway goes north to the 401, Louis St. Laurent Avenue runs across town, and Britannia Road leads east toward the 407. That flexibility is a big part of why buyers who drive every day pick this side of Boyne.

Boyne-era rows with single garages

Bowes is one of the Boyne Survey neighbourhoods, which began construction in 2015. Most homes are two-storey detached houses with a single garage and driveway, front and back yards, and street trees. Townhouses were built alongside them, mostly as freehold two-storey rows with the same single-garage layout.

That makes Bowes's townhouses among the newest in Milton. Many are less than ten years old.

  • Tarion warranty. Check what coverage remains.
  • Grading and fencing. Confirm everything is finished.
  • POTL fees. Some newer rows share a private lane or visitor parking. Check the listing.
  • Parking. Single garages and short driveways are typical.

Single-garage rows usually leave room for one car in the garage and one or two on the driveway. If your household has more vehicles, check the Town's street parking rules before you buy, and look at how full the street gets in the evening.

Meighen Park, the sports park and the library trail

Meighen Park has a playground and gazebo. Beaty Neighbourhood Park, with a soccer field and baseball diamond, is nearby. Milton Community Sports Park has baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a splash pad and a skatepark. There's also a wooded trail behind the Milton Public Library and the Union Gas Trail to the north.

For townhouse owners with small yards, these spaces are close enough to use every day.

What Trafalgar could mean for Bowes

Bowes sits on Milton's eastern side, closer to the Sixteen Mile Creek valley and the planned Trafalgar and Agerton growth areas beyond it. The Trafalgar Secondary Plan was approved in 2024, and the Agerton plan includes a proposed major transit station near Derry Road and Trafalgar Road.

If that station is built, Bowes could be one of the closer Boyne neighbourhoods to it. That's a long-term possibility, not a sure thing, but it's worth keeping in mind.

In the meantime, the construction of new subdivisions to the east will bring more traffic on Derry Road and Britannia Road. Commuters should expect some disruption as roads are widened and new connections are built.
