A suburban Chinatown with townhouses in between
Agincourt was farm country with a post office and a church until the mid-20th century. It joined Metropolitan Toronto in 1953 and filled in with suburban housing over the following decades. From the 1980s, Chinese-themed shopping centres and new immigration turned the area into one of Toronto's suburban Chinatowns, and that commercial character has shaped the main roads ever since.
Townhouses here are mostly condominium complexes from the area's growth decades, set between detached streets, plus some newer infill. The older complexes usually offer three bedrooms over two or three floors with a basement and a small yard; the newer infill tends to be narrower and taller, sometimes with a rooftop terrace in place of a yard. Pacific Mall and the shopping around Kennedy and Steeles sit just over the boundary in Markham, and many residents shop on both sides of the city line.
Stouffville line trains and two highways
Commuting from Agincourt North is easier than from much of eastern Scarborough. The Stouffville GO line has stations at Agincourt, by the old railway crossing, and at Milliken near Steeles. Highway 401 is a short drive south, and the 404 and Don Valley Parkway are close to the west.
TTC buses on Sheppard, Finch, Kennedy and Midland connect to Line 2 and to Line 4 at Don Mills. The Scarborough subway extension's terminus at Sheppard and McCowan will be just southeast of the neighbourhood when it opens, which had been targeted for around 2030 and has since been reported as later.
Where a growing family looks next
For families who start in a two-bedroom unit, Agincourt North makes a move-up search simpler. Three-bedroom condo towns and some freehold rows come up in the same streets, so a family can often stay near the same schools and community centres. Parks include North Agincourt, Chartland, Iroquois and others, and the Agincourt Recreation Centre and Commander Park arena are nearby.
Schools are run by the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Confirm catchment for the specific address with each board; boundaries don't always follow the streets you'd expect.
What to compare between complexes
- Reserve fund and recent replacements. Ask which major components were replaced and when.
- Fee inclusions. Some complexes include water; others meter each unit.
- Parking and visitor spaces. Busy shopping areas nearby can put pressure on visitor parking in some complexes.
- Leasing rules. Check them if you might rent the unit later.
Agincourt's commercial streets are busy, especially on weekends around the shopping plazas, so check how traffic flows in and out of a complex's entrance before you commit. A unit set back on an interior road is usually much quieter than one facing a main street.
Listing counts here are smaller than in Malvern, so the right unit can take time to appear. Watching the live supply on this page over a few weeks gives a better sense of which complexes trade most often.
It also helps to compare Agincourt North with L'Amoreaux to the west. The two share a lot of the same era of complexes and similar highway access, so a buyer who widens the search to both areas will usually see more choice without changing what kind of home they're buying.
What buyers ask about Agincourt North
Which GO stations serve Agincourt North?
Agincourt and Milliken stations on the Stouffville line are the closest. Both connect to Union Station.

The Line 2 extension will end at Sheppard and McCowan, just southeast of the neighbourhood. Its opening has been delayed past the original 2030 target, so plan around today's bus and GO options.
